A century-by-century overview of the history of the Catholic Church, beginning with Creation all the way to current times. Don Kremer walks us through the events and personalities, both the good and the bad, that brought about the Catholic Church that we know today. Creation, the Incarnation, the early church, emperors and kings, Medieval times, good popes, bad popes, crusades, heresies, ecumenical councils, reformers, theologians, …, it’s all here in an understandable and enjoyable romp that reveals God’s faithfulness through history to bring us his Church today. (Course length: 6 hours.)
Don Kremer, Catechist and Spiritual Director
Don is a life-long Catholic and a retiree from Acxiom. His wife passed away in 2015 after a long-term illness. He has four adult children, two living in Arkansas, one in NYC, and one in Detroit.
His career included 17 years with General Motors, 18 year with Electronic Data Systems and 10 years at Acxiom. His jobs have taken him and his family from their home originally in Michigan to New York City, South Africa, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and finally to Arkansas.
He is a member of St. Joseph Parish in Conway where he has served as a teacher for both children and adults and been active in mission work. Don has also taught various classes for the diocese.
His education consists of a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from General Motors Institute, an MBA from Michigan State, two years in the Little Rock Theology Institute, and a Master of Theological Studies degree from the University of Dallas and a Doctorate of Ministry from Fordham University in NYC.
Don is a certified Spiritual Director for the Diocese of Little Rock. He is working with Fr. Daniel Velasco in coordinating and teaching classes for candidate spiritual directors for the diocese.
